Objective: The Objective of the study to the study to the outcomes of Primary Administrator Training Program of Sirindhorn Public Health College; Suphunburi Province by the primary administration trainees between 2005 2010.
Methods: The sample included 82 participants who undergone primary administrator training program at Sirindhorn Public Health College, Suphunburi Province between 2005 2010. Data were analyzed using computer program to finding percentages, means, the standard deviations and Pearsons Product moment correlation co-efficient
Results: The finding revealed that majority of participants were: women aged 36 45 years old, married, incomes 15,000 20,000 baths per month, had a bachelors degree, 15 20 years experiences of working as public health officer, less than 10 year of management experiences, and received administration training 4-7 times a year.
Their administration behaviors included 1) bring knowledge about administration to practice such as; using control chart in project management, using statistic and flowchart in their presentation. 2) Using information in decision making and analyzing problems. They also developing database at the workplace. 3) Evaluating their performance using standard tools, budget using unit cost, managing human resource base on the standard. 4) They aimed to gain 2.5 % percent increase of the salary, receive a distinguish reward in their career, and have a chance to do challenging works. 5) Evaluation of managements in the previous year were moderately good.
There were associations between use of resource and time with administrative experiences. A significant association between administration training and effectiveness of administration was found. Also, there were significant associations among administration experience, administration training, and use of information in decision making. Administration problems included resources and human resource management, limited budget, and problems with budget reclaim from local governments. There were also problems concerning limited budget and human resources although the projects respond to policy. Implementing procedures were not relevant to behaviors and life style of community.
Recommendation and conclusion: The primary administrator training course need to focus more on the weaknesses reported in this study to improve capacity of the trainees. |
